Hi Ian. I added you as a guest to my family tree in Ancestry. I have my account on .co.uk rather than .com so maybe that's why it is not already visible to you. anyway, you should be able to access it now I have added you as a guest.
This is nearly 4 years old at this point so maybe it has already been answered elsewhere - but I have David Prowse in my Family tree (public tree on Ancestry.co.uk/Ancestry.com). David's 5th Great Grandfather was Turpin Prowse, born abt 1670 in Thorverton, Devon, England. died abt 1744 same location. Turpin was my 5th GGF which means David and I were 6th cousins once removed. Of course I had never met him and had no idea we were related until quite recently. At a later point in the family tree, David's more recent ancestors moved from Thorverton to the city of Bristol and mine moved from Thorverton to Clerkenwell in London. I can send you a link to the tree if you are interested.
Hi Kevin, thanks for posting. Also to Ran who replied via email with links to the WikiTree profiles for Turpin (1818-1903) and on down.
I have an Ancestry.com account but not a subscription. You would think I'd be able to see a 'public' tree, but no. Maybe because your tree is on the UK site or maybe because I don't have a subscription. This is what really annoys me about the pay-for-play services and why I use free WikiTree to document proven relationships - they truly are public.
Would love to know how exactly you connect to David Prowse's line...
